Septic tanks and drainage in Randfontein

Randfontein has an old mining history and a mix of sewered town areas and unsewered ones. Many holdings around Randgate, Greenhills and the farms toward Westonaria use septic tanks, while some industrial users rely on bulk tanker collection. Old mine ground and shallow rock make soakaways hard to dig, and some plots sit near dolomite, so leaks are best dealt with fast. Informal settlements in the wider municipality often use communal toilets serviced by tankers. Honey sucker operators work from the Randfontein industrial area and Aureus, with Krugersdorp crews close, and most jobs are done within two days. Ask for a written quote before the truck arrives.

Typical septic tank cleaning requests in the area come from:

• Smallholdings and plots: a full clean of a large tank with a long hose run from the gate, plus drainage checks
• Houses: a pump-out every few years for the septic tank and soakaway at an off-sewer house
• Farms and game farms: the homestead and worker housing tanks done in one trip, and french drains on clay
• Factories, mines, sites and events: bulk pump-outs, portable toilets for sites and events, and waste manifests for compliance
• Schools, churches and clinics: large tanks at schools, churches and clinics cleaned during holidays on a schedule
• Restaurants, shops and offices: grease traps, conservancy tanks and drains at restaurants, shops and filling stations
• Estates and complexes: scheduled emptying of shared conservancy tanks or a treatment plant, with disposal slips
