Septic tanks and drainage in Kempton Park

Kempton Park sits around OR Tambo Airport, so septic and drainage work is divided between sewered suburbs such as Glen Marais and Bonaero Park, and the plots and holdings of Birch Acres' surrounds, Chloorkop, Spartan and Kaalfontein that rely on septic tanks. Airport-related logistics, guesthouses and warehouses add grease traps, bulk pump-outs and after-hours work. Soils are clayey with a high water table in wet years, so soakaways stall easily. Operators serve the area from Spartan, Isando and Edenvale and often reach customers the same day. Guesthouses near the airport should book regular pump-outs, since fully booked weeks produce sudden, heavy loads.

Typical septic tank cleaning requests in the area come from:

• Restaurants, shops and offices: grease traps, conservancy tanks and drains at restaurants, shops and filling stations
• Smallholdings and plots: a full clean of a large tank with a long hose run from the gate, plus drainage checks
• Lodges, guesthouses and venues: pump-outs before and after the busy season, grease traps and package treatment plants
• Houses: a pump-out every few years for the septic tank and soakaway at an off-sewer house
• Factories, mines, sites and events: bulk pump-outs, portable toilets for sites and events, and waste manifests for compliance
• Estates and complexes: scheduled emptying of shared conservancy tanks or a treatment plant, with disposal slips
• Schools, churches and clinics: large tanks at schools, churches and clinics cleaned during holidays on a schedule
